The first Troy's "Slow Ride," will take place Saturday, July 28, at the Rosedale American Legion Post 290, 10522 S. Coxville Rd., Rosedale.Troy Allen Jeffrey II, 17, Brazil, was killed in a tragic vehicle accident June 2, 2012. He was the son of Troy Jeffrey and Christy Malone.
It was reported that Jeffrey had just purchased the vehicle only minutes before the accident.
Organizers of the event stated the purpose of the ride is to bring "awareness and serve as a reminder to drivers new, young and old, to slow down and reach their destination safely."
During the event, the first bikes are scheduled to head out at 1 p.m. From the starting point, the bikes will travel to Archie's, Lucky 13, the 36 Saloon, and the final stop is Harrison's Tavern, at 6 p.m. The ride will make stops in Parke, Vigo and Clay counties.
